Maple Lawn, MD
The hotel is part of a new planned community, constructed on the site of an old family farm, ideally located between Washington, DC and Baltimore in Fulton, Maryland. The community has become a miniature tech hub with many new and iconic office tenants moving into the traditional neighborhood development which features state-of-the-art office buildings. As such, some out of the box thinking had to occur for this Residence Inn. Designed as the “Living Room of Maple Lawn”, the hotel modifies the prototypical Residence Inn public spaces by placing the lobby’s great room adjacent to a neighborhood street, creating a small community square or plaza which the great room opens out onto. The balance of the brand’s public amenity spaces are organized around this space as well. The design contains 107 guestrooms, with a leased restaurant on the ground floor, which anchors the other side of the miniature town square.
