Oella Mill

05002-01Ellicott City, Maryland

Oella Mill is an adaptive reuse project that involves converting existing retail and studio space into 147 luxury apartments in Ellicott City, Maryland. The building, which opened in the 1800s as a textile mill, is named after the first woman to spin cotton in the United States. State and Federal Historic tax credits are being used in the development.

Located on the east bank of the Patapsco River, many of the 122 one-bedroom and 25 two-bedroom apartments offer views of the river and surrounding wooded areas. Units on the opposite sides of the building feature views of a wooded hillside. Parking and bike storage areas have primarily been integrated into the lower levels of the building, with additional paved parking incorporated into the site and landscape design. A former Power Plant on the site has been converted to 6 flats on two levels, all of which overlook the river.
