Located in the Mt. Vernon historic district neighborhood of Washington DC, the 49 unit for sale residential project incorporates a historic commercial building façade into the base of the structure. The former “Directors Roast Beef” store front features early 20^th century colored concrete panels which will be cleaned and reinstalled in their original configuration. The new structure creates a series of balconies and bay windows, “jewel boxes” surrounded by a masonry frame. The masonry frame returns along the side walls creating an industrial warehouse feel to the structure. The contrast between old and new is intentional and successfully energies the urban street scape.

The floor to ceiling glazing through out the units give the living spaces a feel of openness with an abundance of natural light. There will be some onsite parking as well as bicycle storage and an exercise room. The ground floor will feature a small café space behind the historic storefront.
