Sustainable design is at the heart of every decision we make here at FILLAT+. Sustainability and green living isn’t just an inherent quality within the structures or their EnergyStar amenities – it’s intertwined with social connectivity, proximity and ease of access to public transit, and public health.

FILLAT+ relies on innovative design solutions and time-tested sustainable practices in each of our projects, from small renovations and refurbishments to massive, new build structures. Our sustainable practices have earned us numerous LEED Gold and LEED Silver certifications from USGBC, with improvements and design choices like the use of low-VOC paints, VRF HVAC systems, and EnergyStar appliances to bicycle and car-sharing systems, medium-density living roofs, and providing ease-of-access to local and regional transit.

A prime example of our LEED design is emulated in our recently-awarded LEED Gold project, The Berkleigh, with measures like:

• Secure storage has been incorporated for over 15% of its residence
• ~30% of the permanently installed building materials were extracted and manufactured within 500 miles of the residence. As a result, less greenhouse gas emissions were generated during transport.
• Spaces are reserved for Low Emitting and Fuel-Efficient Vehicles in the parking garage. Additionally, Electric Vehicle Charging Stations have been provided for resident use.
• A VRF HVAC system, as well as an efficient building envelope allowed the project to achieve a 31% energy cost saving~
