In our 2015 Year in Review, we at the Baltimore Business Journal referred to 2015 as ” The Year We Woke Up.”
This was definitely true in the real estate industry. Some of the biggest buildings in the city sold, development continued to boom in the counties and cranes started to pop up across the city after years of inactivity.

The BBJ’s Best in Real Estate Inc. awards will be held in the Legg Mason building on March 10.

As a result, the Baltimore Business Journal is bringing back our Best in Real Estate Inc. Awards to honor the top projects from 2015.
After accepting nominations for several months, the staff selected the top three projects in six different categories:

Building transaction
Commercial lease
Industrial sale
New construction
Redevelopment/conversion
Apartment project
Retail project

Finalists were selected based on their scale, the amount of attention they received and their impact on Greater Baltimore.

From those three projects, we will be selecting one winner to honor in each category, including one Best in Show project, at our awards ceremony on March 10 at the Legg Mason tower in Harbor East. The runners-up will also be recognized at the ceremony.

For now, here are the three final projects in each category, in no particular order.
